How many age groups are there for my child to swim in?

Our swim league (more on that below) swims in specific age groups that are also divided by gender. The age groups are:

• 6 and under (not scored)
• 7- 8
• 9 -10
• 11 -12
• 13 -14
• 15 -18 (as of June 1 2026)

In some cases, swimmers can “age-up” to fill a spot.

The Dolphins compete within the RSL which is comprised of 26 summer swim teams from the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Orange, Virginia.

• There are 6 teams in the Patriot Division.
