Hi, I’m Coach Lucy! I have been part of the Dolphin’s family for 16 years. I loved swim team so much that I joined a year-round team as a first-time swimmer at seven years old and quickly grew to love the sport. In high school, I swam as a Varsity member of the Brooke Point swim team for four years. When I was 12, I knew I wanted to become the head coach and started helping around the pool deck. At 13, I began as a volunteer junior assistant coach and later served as an assistant coach for four years. Working with children has always been my passion. I recently graduated from Radford University with a degree in Elementary Education, and I’m excited to begin teaching this fall. I am so excited to be the Dolphin’s head coach this summer and can’t wait to share my love of swimming with all of you. My goal is to provide a fun, encouraging environment focused on building teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship where your children will thrive. Go Dolphins!!🐬
I’ve been part of the Dolphins family for 11 years, starting my swimming journey at age 9 Since then, swimming has become a huge part of my life, giving me the opportunity to build lasting friendships and meaningful relationships. In addition to swimming with the Dolphins, I was a member of the Brooke Point Varsity Swim Team for four years. For the past four seasons, I’ve served as an assistant coach for the Dolphins, and before that, I spent five seasons as a junior assistant. I truly enjoy sharing my passion for swimming and making sure every swimmer has a fun and positive experience on the team. During the school year, I attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I’m majoring in elementary education with a concentration in social studies. I’ll be graduating in December and am excited to begin my teaching career—working with young children is something I’m really passionate about. I’m looking forward to working alongside Coach Lucy and getting to know all the swimmers this summer!
Hello! My name is coach Lilly and I am so excited to be a coach this summer. I have been swimming with the dolphins since I was 8 years old. I loved swimming so much that when I was 12 I joined a club team. I have been coaching for the past 3 years and have loved every second of it. I can’t wait to see everyone this summer and help them grow their love of swimming. Go Dolphins 🐬
Hello, I am Douglas Gillespie and I am very excited to be an assistant coach this year! I have been swimming on the Dolphins for all of my life. I have also been on Brooke Point's varsity swim team and done the RAYS high school manta program for the last 2 years. My favorite thing about swim is that it helps me stay fit. I am most excited to help younger swimmers achieve their goals, learn new skills, and have fun during this season!
My name is Colin and I’m really looking forward to coaching this year. I’ve been swimming with the team consecutively for 3 years, but also swam when I was much younger. I also swim and run track competitively at Brooke Point High School, where I specialize in Breast Stroke and the mile in track. I love being able to help the kids improve their technique and become better swimmers, and most of all I love watching them enjoy the sport more and more. I’m looking forward to a great season!
